About Rosie
Rosie Barber is a Mornington Peninsula–based Australian artist with over 30 years of practice, now working predominantly in oils. Drawn to the depth and flexibility of the medium, her work captures mood, light, and quiet detail with clarity and intent.
Known for her large-scale canvases, Rosie’s style is bold yet refined, with strong graphic composition, layered shadowing, and realistic detail.
Her work centres on three themes: sculptural flowers, coastal scenes, and Peninsula landscapes. Influenced by childhood summers in Sorrento and her life on the Mornington Peninsula, each piece reflects a sense of calm, place, and lived experience.
Rosie’s work has been exhibited widely and is held in private collections across Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania.
Each piece carries its own story, best experienced up close.
